Life at our MisisonNative Americans and the Mission
The Costanoan tribe occupied the area from Monterey up to San Francisco. They spoke 8 languages. One of them was Awaswas Ironwork was given to the tribe. The ironwork was from Captain George Vancouver. Many crops such as corn and wheat were harvest. They keep their food healthy and fresh. They grow and trade fish because they live near the ocean! They also grew and trade wheat and corn! Life at mission Santa Cruz was difficult for both Fathers and the Natives because the weather. The weather changed their lives. The crops died from the hot or cold rainy weather. Did the missions hurt or help the Native Americans? It was difficult for both Native Americans and the people! The indians were dying out because of our populations increasing. |
