The main tribe at San Luis Obispo was the Chumash. There was no other tribes that lived at the mission. What jobs did the Native Americans do the missions? (farming, basket making,...) They helped feed the families, they hunted , gathered food, and hunted for fish. What was grown or traded at your mission? Which of these came from the Old world (Europe) The mission was famous for the wines ,olive oil ,agriculture and more. Still for roofing tiles, and cloth. San Luis Obispo perfected the red roof tiles through first used at mission San Antonio De Prado. How where the Native Americans treated at your mission? Did they get along with the Spanish priests who lived there? Father Luis Antonio Martinez was very popular with the Chumash Indians of the area.
