Life at our MissionThe Native were treated fine.They got along with the Spanish priests.The Chumash tribe were not upset with the missionaries being at the Chumash tribe’s home.The Chumash tribe helped the missionaries build the mission.
Only the Chumash tribe lived at this mission because they were living there before the mission people came and they created the mission. The Chumash made baskets, cooked deer, and fish, trapped fish, carried water, and built houses to live in. The Chumash tribe killed deer for deer skin to make clothes for people in the tribe. Things were the same when the missionaries got there some people stayed behind and some people helped them.The Chumash tribe helped build the mission and made more baskets for the supplies. When they left the Chumash tribe did things as usual again. Before the missionaries made the mission the Chumash tribe collected resources to survive and to build houses for warmth and for shelter. At the Mission the Native Americans must have wanted to help and, because they helped, the mission did not hurt them at all.The mission helped the Native Americans, well, at least the Native Americans helped with the The things that grew at the mission were figs, sugarcane, wheat, barley, corn, peas, beans, lentils, chickpeas,broad beans, berries.The animals at the mission were cattle, sheep, and horses. |
